Matt LeBlanc Is Not Your Friend in New CBS Pilot
Expect to see a lot more of Matt LeBlanc in 2016 as the former Friends cast member has signed onto to star in another sitcom.
According to Deadline, CBS has reportedly ordered a pilot for a new comedy featuring the Newton native called I’m Not Your Friend. The deal will guarantee 13 episodes for LeBlanc, who’s set to play a father dealing with the challenges of raising his kids when his wife goes back to work.
The series is being developed by That ’70s Show writers Jeff and Jackie Filgo, while veteran director and TV comedy legend James Burrows is attached to helm the pilot.
LeBlanc’s latest news comes less than a week after BBC announced that he would be joining their hit show Top Gear alongside Chris Evans (not the one from Boston). The actor will be the program’s first American co-host when the new season premieres in May.
Even though we’re not even two months into February, 2016 has already been a big year for LeBlanc.
In addition to his new gigs, the actor will be joining former co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer for a pseudo-Friends reunion at Must See TV, an upcoming, “all-star tribute” to Burrows that will air on Sunday, February 21.
LeBlanc’s Showtime series Episodes, which earned him a Golden Globe for best actor in 2012, is also rumored to be filming its fifth and final season this year.
