Sam Edelman Comes to Boston
Popular contemporary accessories brand Sam Edelman is opening its first Boston storefront at the Prudential Center this Saturday, just in time for your spring footwear shopping spree. The new 2,793 square-foot Back Bay shop is a part of a recent burst of expansion (the brand just opened boutiques in Las Vegas and Santa Clara) and will become their ninth retail space in the United States.
Sam Edelman (also the cofounder of Kenneth Cole) designs affordable trendy bags and jewelry, but the brand is mostly known for their cheeky shoes—particularly, the iconic and seriously functional Gigi thong sandal, which comes in every color and print imaginable.
The new space, designed by Dagnell Folger of New York-based architecture firm Architecture + Information, boasts a trendy eclectic aesthetic—think mixed materials like rustic reclaimed wood and industrial concrete with touches of rose-colored brass and leather—vintage furniture curated by designer Sam Edelman himself, and featuring, of course, pops of the brand’s signature shade of bright green.
“Boston has an amazingly youthful energy and we are excited to be a part of it,” the eponymous designer said in a press release.
Below, a few things we’ll be rushing to buy at their grand opening Saturday.
