Gisele Bündchen Attended Chanel Fashion Show in Cuba
If you’re wondering why Gisele Bündchen was absent from the 2016 Met Gala this week, it’s because she had to attend another star-studded party.
The model and wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was one of several celebrities who made the trek over to Havana, Cuba to celebrate Chanel’s 2017 Resort collection. According to CNN, this was the country’s “first major fashion show” since the rise of Fidel Castro in 1959.
Prior to Tuesday’s event, the high-profile guests received the A-list treatment as they got the chance to check out Ernest Hemingway’s house as well as a special exhibition of photographs by Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld.
Gisele seemed to have a blast while partying on the island nation as she posted photos of herself on Instagram taking in the Cuban countryside and even riding in a cocotaxi.
Gisele was joined by a slew of big name stars at the French fashion house’s event, including actress Tilda Swinton, reality television personality Kendall Jenner, actor Vin Diesel, and, according to People, Fidel Castro’s grandson Tony.
Brady, however, did not make the trip over to Cuba since he has a bit on his plate right now. The multiple time Super Bowl-winning champion did post an image of Gisele on Facebook accompanied by a heartfelt caption.
“Congratulations on your Chanel event in Cuba,” Brady wrote. “Your hard work never ceases to amaze me! We love you and can’t wait for you to come home!”
