Bruce Springsteen will be taking over Gillette Stadium just a few days before the Patriots’ 2016 home opener.

While fans are bummed that Tom Brady probably won’t be taking the field for the first few games of the season, hopefully the Boss and his E Street Band can take some of the sting out of it. Springsteen announced on Monday that he’ll be bringing his “The River Tour” to Foxboro on Wednesday, September 14 (the Pats play the Dolphins at home on Sunday, September 18).

The concert is part of eight U.S. shows which have been added to the tour, kicking off at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Tuesday, August 23. The newly announced gigs will follow the end of the band’s current run in Europe for “The River Tour.”

Springsteen previously stopped in Boston for a show at the TD Garden on Thursday, February 4.

As of now, the Gillette Stadium concert will be Springsteen’s final show in the U.S. during his current tour.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale via Ticketmaster on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. For more information and a full list of tour dates, check out BruceSpringsteen.net.
