Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Hits City Hall Plaza on June 18
You’ve likely had a beer from Sierra Nevada’s extensive catalog, like the classic Pale Ale or Bavarian-style Kellerweis. But when its Beer Camp Across America tour stops by Government Center next week, you can sip beers from 128 of the California brewery’s talented friends.
The annual, traveling brewfest will take over City Hall Plaza for the first time on Saturday, June 18, pouring samples from some of the top brewers in the U.S. Participants include Massachusetts favorites like Trillium, Aeronaut, Mayflower, and Night Shift, as well as visitors like North Carolina’s Wicked Weed and New York’s Other Half. Check out Sierra Nevada’s website for a complete list.
You can’t put that many creative minds on the same bill and not expect collaboration. Sierra Nevada spearheaded six collaboration brews as part of the beer tour. JC and Esther Tetreault of Trillium, Sean Lawson of Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head, and other northeastern brewers banded together to create Pat-Rye-Ot, a colonial-inspired pale ale brewed with apples and rye. Make sure you stop by Sierra Nevada’s booth for a sip.
A number of food trucks like Bon Me, Taco Party, and Frozen Hoagies will also be on site, and there’s live music, care of Nemes. The event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Brewers Guild.
And if you can’t make it out—or if you develop a taste for Pat-Rye-Ot—keep an eye out for mix packs of all six of the Beer Camp collaboration brews.
