Chris Evans Shares Hilarious Internship Cover Letter from 1998
Long before he was a Hollywood megastar, Chris Evans was just a high school theater buff trying to make it the acting world.
While he’s known around the globe as Captain America now, the Sudbury native had to fight to get on casting directors’ radars back when he was a teenager.
According to a recent post on Twitter, the actor sent out dozens of cover letters during his junior year at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1998, hoping that someone would give him a crack at an internship.
On Wednesday, Evans tweeted out a photo of one hilarious cover letter he sent out while trying to find a summer job in New York City.
Wow. My dad found the letter I sent to DOZENS of casting directors during my junior year. Hilarious. #bestsummerever pic.twitter.com/9pyZxAVisk

In a follow-up post, Evans revealed that he ended up landing a summer internship that year, despite his “humiliating” resume and headshot.
And the resume/headshot I sent along with it is BEYOND humiliating. Truly comical. Luckily it did somehow lead to an internship. #dumbluck

Fast forward 18 years and now he’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world. His latest flick, Captain America: Civil War, recently passed the $1 billion mark at global box offices, making it the highest-grossing movie so far in 2016.
Not too shabby, Christopher.
