Elizabeth Warren Endorses Hillary Clinton for President
Sen. Elizabeth Warren officially endorsed Hillary Clinton for president Thursday night, with hopes that the anti-Wall Street rhetoric that has long been her trademark will unite progressives under the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The Massachusetts senator made the announcement on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show Thursday night.
“I’m ready. I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States, and to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House,” Warren said.
Warren, 66, praised Clinton’s primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose platform included many of the same ideas she has embraced in her public life. She called the Democratic primary “constructive,” and thanked her Vermont colleague for thrusting issues like income inequality and banking reform into the spotlight.
“I take my cue on every part of this from Bernie himself and what he said right at the beginning…what this is about, what we’re doing here is about millions of people across this country, millions of people who work hard every day and just keep getting slammed,” she said.
Clinton thanked Warren on Twitter early Friday morning.
Proud to have the support of @SenWarren—a woman who is Trump's exact opposite: honest, decent, and deeply concerned for working families. -H

“I just want to be sure I get this on the table, and get this on the table early: Hillary Clinton won. And she won because she’s a fighter, she’s out there, she’s tough,” Warren said.
