Beat Brasserie

If Dad’s a Deadhead, bring him to Grateful Dad bluegrass brunch this Sunday. Musician Frank Drake and his band provide the soundtrack of Grateful Dead covers, plus a few jazz and bluegrass tunes, alongside brunch options like turkey hash with poached eggs, sweet chili ribs, and oysters from the raw bar.

Bronwyn Restaurant

Executive chef Tim Wiechmann kicks off the annual sausage week at his German gem in Union Square tonight. Daily ‘wurst specials, accompanied by potatoes, kraut, and mustard, include tonight’s speckwurst with haus-cured maple bacon, and hirschwurst venison sausage with cinnamon on Thursday. On Sunday, treat dad to the signature footlong bratwurst.

Flank

If Dad’s appetite borders on ravenous, maybe he’d like a whole suckling pig. At Waltham’s new beefsteak diner, the meal feeds 4-6 and arrives with roasted potatoes, root vegetables, and pork mac and cheese for good measure. The restaurant is offering its full menu, too.

Foundry on Elm

Here, a Sunday brunch buffet has executive chef Shayne Nunes’s dishes like strawberry cream cheese crepes, slow-roasted prime rib, made-to-order omelets, cheeses and fruits. If Dad’s not a morning person, there’s also special prime rib service starting at 5 p.m., with grilled asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and balsamic cream.

Executive chef Dante de Magistris has created a four-course meal, complete with beer pairings from area breweries. Start off light with a caprese antipasto and a pilsner from Jack’s Abby. Beef rib and pepper pasta is complemented by Maine Beer Company’s Peeper pale ale, and the sweet finish of cherry chocolate tiramisu comes with Brewery Ommegang’s Three Philosophers Belgian quad.

Lord Hobo Brewing Company 

Toast to your dad, and Lord Hobo Brewing Company‘s first birthday, with a few pints and an all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet courtesy of the Daniel Lanigan’s pub. There will be cookout staples like hot dogs, watermelon, corn on the cob, and burgers, plus plenty of craft beer, like the brewery’s flagship Boom Sauce IPA. Free bus rides to and from the Cambridge taproom to its Woburn brewery will be provided, care of City Brew Tours.
