This Bauhaus bungalow in Wayland, called Chamberlain Cottage, was designed by famed Modernist Marcel Breuer along with the founder of the Bauhaus movement himself, Walter Gropius. It was one of the first structures Breuer completed in the United States, and was built only two years after Gropius’ own home in Lincoln (which is now a museum run by Historic New England).

Many distinctive details circa 1940 remain, including cork and cement flooring, copper wall coverings, and an indoor koi pond.
