Two Local Companies Ranked Among Fastest-Growing Startups

The entrepreneurs leading two Boston-area startups have some celebrating to do this week after Inc. magazine added them near the top of its List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies.
Finishing in second-place on the list was Paint Nite, whose pop-up lessons in making art while drinking started making it big in 2012 as the lucrative trend first started to take off. There is apparently a lot of money in the pairing of amateur artistry and alcohol. The company, which is based in Somerville and has spread rapidly to cities around the country, has grown by 36,555 percent over the past three years. It made $55 million in revenue in 2015, according to Inc.
Paint Nite has also been branching out, so to speak, with something called Plant Nite, for which you arrange plants.
Also in the top ten was Cambridge’s Globalization Partners, which helps companies hire people from other countries. It also got its start in 2012, and grew by 16,196 percent over three years, landing it the number 6 spot in the rankings. It brought in $17.7 million in revenue in 2015.

Other Massachusetts companies that made it on the magazine’s list include Boston’s HaystackID (38th) and Downeast Cider House (63rd), the latter of which can attribute at least part of its success to the A-plus quality of its website’s Roger Goodell trolling.
