Thayer Academy
Thayer Academy students thrive in an environment distinguished by rigorous academics, a supportive culture, and a vibrant community. In combination, these elements create a truly special student experience.
Tradition and innovation intersect at Thayer—making it an exciting place to be. The Middle School program now includes more experiential learning, outdoor education, Visual Arts, Coding, and Robotics. A record number of students participated in Thayer’s musicals, plays, bands, chorus, and dance performances this past year; and two new turf fields were recently installed on campus, adding to the eight existing turf and grass fields.
Advisors, faculty, and coaches encourage students to try new things. Students don’t need to choose at Thayer—they can be a performer, an artist, an athlete, and a curious and engaged student. The school’s scheduling allows this. Get to know some of Thayer’s students and see the variety of activities in which they participate at thayer.org/seniorprofiles.
Students are challenged in small, dynamic learning environments designed to foster intellectual and personal growth. With a 6:1 student to teacher ratio, an average class size of 14, and MacBook Air laptops for each student, students and teachers work hard in an atmosphere of true academic collaboration.
Easily accessible from the Red Line, Thayer draws students from 76 communities and a wide range of backgrounds—which further enriches and differentiates the student experience. Visit thayer.org or take a tour of Thayer’s historic campus. The staff looks forward to welcoming you.
