Boston’s City Councilors to Let Their Hair Down, Sing
After their regularly scheduled hearing on Wednesday, Boston’s City Councilors plan on showing off their musical sides.
The politicians, “backed up by a guitar, drums and keyboard,” will take turns singing some of their favorite songs, right up there on City Hall’s third floor mezzanine, at 1:30 p.m.
It’s all part of Council President Michelle Wu’s plan to have one councilor each month plan a lunch “to foster stronger relationships and collaboration between colleagues” with “a focus on nongovernmental business,” according to a news release.

This month, it’s Bill Linehan’s turn. And Bill Linehan wants to rock.
You see, City Councilors like to have fun, too. They also, you’ll recall, enjoy ice cream.
Boston got an advance look at what the councilors plan on bringing to the stage from to a Linehan aide, who described the set list as “tentative.”
(We should hope that it’s only tentative, considering Tito Jackson has what is quite possibly the greatest campaign jingle in Boston history and this seems like the perfect opportunity to embrace it for the hit it was always meant to be.)
Tito Jackson (hopefully): “Vote for Tito Jackson,” by Larry Woo.
