PREVIOUSLY:
From 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today, Boloco is serving free burritos at its flagship location next to Berklee College of Music.
Free burritos. Today. Like, right now.
If you can’t make it out, fret not: This is the first of seven Boloco Free Burrito Days coming up, aligning with the final weeks of the Red Sox season. At a different Boston-area location each time, to be announced on Boloco’s social media, any burrito goes for free—including the one inspired by Ortiz himself, complete with Big Papi’s Kitchen salsa.
The local burrito shop is on a mission to raise $34,000 for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund, which helps provide surgeries for children in need. In honor of Big Papi’s last season, Boloco is collecting donations during the promotion. So before you crush your free lunch or dinner, make sure you pay it forward.
Big Papi has a big appetite, and Boloco isn’t the only local company that’s honoring the Red Sox legend with food. Saloniki just debuted a Big Papi sandwich at its Fenway location, and Dunkin’ Donuts is slinging a #34 doughnut these days, too.
