Check Out New Balance and J. Crew’s New Activewear Line
J. Crew is branching out from Breton-striped sweaters and candy-colored chinos. The brand announced Tuesday the launch of its first-ever activewear line—and who better to guide the prep school favorite into the world of spandex and sneakers than New Balance, one of Boston’s own?
The NB x J. Crew line includes leggings, tops, sports bras, sneakers, shorts, and accessories in a variety of styles, ranging from muted pastels to eye-catching orange and cobalt blue. Price-wise, the line is on par with other contemporary athleisure brands. Leggings will run you between $70 and $95, while tops usually hover close to $50.
The clothes—so far only available for women—can be purchased at select New Balance and J. Crew stores (including New Balance’s Boston flagship), and on both brands’ websites. New styles are coming in mid-November, and a full spring collection will come out in early 2017.
The collaboration is the latest development in New Balance’s push to appeal to today’s athleisure-obsessed consumer. The brand has been working to cast aside its “Dad shoes” image, launching its NB Women line last year, signing big-name brand ambassadors, and venturing into the high-tech space.
Enough delay. Check out some pieces from the new line below:
