This Is What a Head of the Charles Rower Eats for Breakfast
We don’t need to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In this series, we’re asking some of Boston’s top doctors, fitness pros, and dietitians for a sneak peek into their kitchens, so we can see what’s on their breakfast table.
Mahe Drysdale
Claim to fame: The Kiwi rower just took home gold in Rio, his second consecutive win in single sculls. He’s also a three-time Head of the Charles singles champion, and came back for the legendary regatta this year.
What he ate: Yogurt with granola, milk, and banana; orange juice; and tea.
Why he chose it: With a long day of rowing before him, Drysdale needs something that will give him power without weighing him down. This meal fits the bill.
“It’s a very easily digestible breakfast with a good mix of carbs, protein, and fat to help me perform during training sessions throughout the day,” he says.
