ROCK LIT
Friday, January 8
Red Velvet Underground: A Rock Memoir, with Recipes
This week, it’s a Blake Babies reunion in Harvard Square—only it’s not at a rock club, but in a bookstore. This Friday, musician Freda Love Smith presents a new culinary-influenced memoir that’s chock-full of homages to ‘90s rock (like touring in Evan Dando’s broken-down station wagon and couch-surfing at Henry Rollins’s place) and vegetarian recipes. Her Harvard Book Store co-headliner for the evening: fellow Blake Babies bandmate Juliana Hatfield.
Free, January 8, 7 p.m., Harvard Book Store, 1256 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, 617-661-1515, harvard.com.
