Air Festivus Grievances at Dorchester Brewing Co. and Bambolina
Maybe you’ve made your 2016 restaurant bucket list, but have you written down your yearly grievances? Time to get the list together, because a Salem pizzeria and a Dorchester brewery are both hosting Festivus parties next week.
The nondenominational winter holiday, celebrated December 23, is infamous from a 1997 Seinfeld episode, “The Strike.” At Frank Costanza’s parents house, George, Seinfeld, Elaine, Kramer, and some other quirky characters gather to celebrate the secular, winter feast—along with the traditional Airing of Grievances, and the Feats of Strength. There’s no decorated fir, nor lighted candelabra, but a no-nonsense, metal pole around which to gather.
The team at Bambolina is setting up the Festivus pole for Seinfeld takeover in Salem next Friday. A la carte specials include ALL the Soup for You, the Big Salad, Fusilli Jerry bolognese, and a knife-and-fork Snickers.
Also on Friday, airing grievances at Dorchester Brewing Co. gets the curmudgeon a complimentary serving of ribs. The Rib Truck will be on hand to make the festive night even merrier.
Wherever you plan to gather with “the rest of us,” make sure you’re wearing comfortable clothes (you know, for the feats of strength)—and come hungry. Both events are free to attend.
