In Her New Book, Elizabeth Warren Says She’s Ready for a Fight
Elizabeth Warren, whose reputation as a leading voice of the anti-Trump movement continues to build, has plans to release a new book. She’s ready for a fight, the book will say, and is willing to, politically speaking, punch Donald Trump in the face for America.
Due out April 18, the book is called This Fight is Our Fight: The Battle to save America’s Middle Class, publisher Henry Holt and Co. announced today.
It will include tales from the Democrat’s time as a Senator from Massachusetts, a history of working families from the New Deal through the 2016 election, and Warren’s take on the path forward under the new president, the publisher says.
“Washington works great for the rich and powerful who can hire armies of lawyers and lobbyists, but it is not working very well for everyone else,” Warren said in a statement. “America’s once-solid middle class is on the ropes, and now Donald Trump and his administration seem determined to deliver the knockout punch. At this perilous moment in our country’s history, it’s time to fight back—and I’m looking for more people to join me.”
Warren seems to like the imagery of stepping into the ring with her opponents. She published a similarly titled book, A Fighting Chance, in 2014. It was a New York Times best-seller.
Her likeness was also featured in a comic book, as part of a series called Female Force, last year, in which she used her powers to clobber Wall Street fat cats.
When the 2014 book came out, many saw it as more evidence she might be mulling a run for president. Expect more of those murmurs this time around, too. Remember, though, she’s been pumping out books about debt and the middle class since long before she was widely considered a contender for the Oval Office.
