On Thursday, March 2, Big Sister Association of Greater Boston held its annual Project Role Model Fashion Show at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. In addition to Big and Little Sisters, Boston favorites such as Chef Jody Adams, retired New England Patriots player Jerod Mayo, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, Bryan Rafanelli of Rafanelli Events, WBZ-TV’s Eric Fisher and Dr. Mallika Marshall, and MA State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry donned looks from designers, including Michael DePaulo, Alice Walk, Sara Campbell, Eileen Fisher, Gumuchian jewelers, and the shops at The Street in Chestnut Hill. Boston’s business and philanthropic leaders rocked the runway in spring styles as well, including: Melissa MacDonnell, head of Liberty Mutual Foundation; Darren Donovan, managing principal at KPMG’s Boston office; Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce president, James Rooney; and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts’ VP of Corporate Citizenship and Public Affairs, Jeff Bellows.
WBZ-TV’s Lisa Hughes emceed, while first lady of Massachusetts, Lauren Baker, delivered featured remarks. WBZ-TV’s Steve Burton and Jerod Mayo brought down the house with a live auction that culminated in a runway dance party. The event, attended by about 350 guests, raised nearly $200,000 in support of Big Sister Boston’s mentoring and enrichment programs for girls.
