Sure, plain black leggings are practical and all. But if you want to mix up your gym wardrobe, check out a pop-up shop coming to Newbury Street this marathon weekend.

Boston-born startup La Forma is returning to its roots from April 13 through 16. The pop-up shop, located inside Ministry of Supply, will sell La Forma’s small-batch sportswear pieces, which are all created by independent artists who treat fabric as their canvas. You’ll find splatter-print leggings, geometric tank tops, shibori jackets, nature-inspired swimsuits—and hardly a black legging in sight.

La Forma’s wearable art costs about what you’d pay at other activewear retailers—think $80 to $90 for leggings, and around $50 for tanks. A portion of each sale goes right back to the artist who created that garment.
