Jimmy Page quietly made a visit to Lowell this week, to honor one of the most famous artists from the Mill City.

The legendary Led Zeppelin and Yardbirds guitarist accompanied his girlfriend, poet Scarlett Sabet, to Jack Kerouac’s grave at Edson Cemetery. “Whilst in Massachusetts I was able to go and pay my respects to one of my favourite writers in Lowell,” Sabet wrote on her blog.

In a video posted to Vimeo, Page and Sabett drive on the Lowell Connector and bring flowers to the Beat writer’s pen-covered grave.

Prior to the visit, Sabett did a poetry reading at Wellesley College. “It was a pleasure to hear such positive, lovely, inspiring interpretations of my work from the students,” she posted. “It was great to be able to spend time with them after the reading, along with other professors and writers.”

Page is no stranger to Lowell; the Commodore Ballroom (now the Gallagher Transit Terminal’s parking garage) once hosted the Yardbirds in January 1967.
