Catie Copley, Boston’s Most Famous Dog, Has Passed Away
After more than a decade as the Fairmont Copley Plaza’s most famous—and most adorable—employee, beloved black lab Catie Copley has passed away at the age of 15.
“With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the news that our beloved Catie Copley has passed away,” the hotel tweeted. “Her paw-some love will be missed by all.”
For years, Catie was the hotel’s canine ambassador, greeting guests alongside veteran concierge Joe Fallon and longtime doorman Michael Eades. She attracted enough of a following to rack up her own email address, business cards, and look-alike stuffed animals before retiring in 2015.
Carly Copley, a fellow black lab and Catie’s “little sister,” joined the team in 2013, and took over for Catie when she retired. You can still catch Carly at the hotel today.
