Earls Kitchen + Bar to Open at the Prudential in September
Another multi-story restaurant and bar is joining Eataly Boston in the Prudential Center. Earls Kitchen + Bar is taking over 14,500 square feet—including some roof deck real estate—across from the Italian food emporium, and it’s eyeing a September 2017 opening in Back Bay.
The Canadian-born company opened its first Northeastern U.S. location at Assembly Row in 2014. With this latest outpost, it will have 66 restaurants throughout North America.
The forthcoming Earls is headed for space formerly occupied by a Legal Sea Foods. The new restaurant will have a cocktail bar on the Prudential mall’s atrium level, a 300-seat dining room and open kitchen upstairs, and a three-season roof deck with a retractable roof. The rooftop bar and lounge will have room for 200 among fire pits, a mature tree, and ivy-covered walls. Inside, Earls’ signature papier-mâché animals decorate the dining room, and high-definition TVs line the first floor bar.
The international-but-independent restaurant group operates scratch kitchens, and the Pru location will be no different. Expect a global menu with entrees like bibimbap, jeera chicken curry, sushi, and more, alongside gourmet burgers, steaks, and seafood. From the bar, find a menu of six takes on the Old Fashioned among other craft cocktails, a boozy frozen pink lemonade, regional craft beers, and an “unpretentious” wine list.
Terra, the wood-fired Italian grill and barrel-aged-beer hall on Eataly Boston’s third floor, is planning to debut a rooftop patio at some point, too. Stay tuned for more details on both exciting spaces above the city.
