Who was your role model growing up?
My parents have always been my role models. Throughout my childhood my parents built their business. I saw the benefits. Their efforts delivered autonomy, self-satisfaction, passion, and the ability to give back.
What advice do you have for other women?
Have confidence and believe in yourself. Listen to trusted advisors, and do your homework. Recognize that no one has all of the answers or information, but once you have gathered it and formulated a plan, trust yourself. All too often our natural tendency to self-doubt can roadblock our success.
Who is your mentor?
I began my practice at Morgan, Brown & Joy in 1992 when women in law firms were fewer in numbers than they are today. From the moment I entered the firm, I was encouraged, groomed, and trained. The men at the firm brought me up.
