Use This Discounted Lyft Code as Your Pre-Thanksgiving Designated Driver

The Wednesday night deal is thanks to a partnership between the ride-share service and the Massachusetts Brewers Guild.

Here’s hoping you’re already planning to get a lift home after catching up with hometown friends over a few pints this Thanksgiving eve. The popularity of ride-share services, even in typically sleepy suburbs, provides a convenient way to avoid driving while buzzed (or worse) on the busiest going-out night of the year, so there’s really no reason to get behind the wheel.

And this year, Lyft is using its new partnership with the Massachusetts Brewers Guild to make calling for a ride even more appealing: Using code MBGTHANKFUL, the ride-share service is offering 2,000, $10-off rides between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.

Financial support from Guild members including Harpoon, Sam Adams, Jack’s Abby, Castle Island, and Wormtown makes the discount possible, but the code can be used for any ride in the state, Lyft says. But with fresh beer finally flowing by the pint at Boston Beer Co.’s Jamaica Plain headquarters, and new breweries bubbling up around the region, like Braintree’s Widowmaker, Untold in Scituate, and Down the Road’s new home in Everett, why not check out a brewery near your hometown this week?

And if you keep your wits about you enough to bring some fresh growlers, bottles, or cans home for your Thanksgiving table, you’ll be doubly thankful.
