Anna’s Taqueria Is Now Slinging Burritos in the Prudential Center
The Brookline-born favorites bring a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu.
Quick-service, customizable lunch concepts are proliferating in Boston on a monthly basis, from the Seaport, to the Fenway, to the Back Bay and beyond. But the latest opening isn’t an import from New York or Washington, D.C. It’s a beloved, decades-old, local favorite.
Anna’s Taqueria opened its eighth Boston-area location this morning inside the Prudential Center, joining fast-casual imports like D.C.-based Sweetgreen, which opened there in 2015; Num Pang, and Dig Inn, along with Earls Kitchen + Bar, and Eataly Boston, among the new-and-improved mall dining options.
Obviously best-known for burritos—it’s Anna’s, you’ve been there a million times—the mix-and-match menu also offers taco plates, Mexican rice bowls, salads, and quesadillas made-to-order with fresh vegetables, meats, toppings, sauces, and sides. It also serves breakfast burritos, eggy tacos and bowls, sausage, potatoes, and fresh juices for morning people.
The new restaurant spans about 1,300-square feet inside the Pru food court. It looks familiar, with Anna’s bright, ceramic Talavera tiles, eggshell countertops, and warm yellow walls. Order along the central counter, then take a seat at a communal or two-top table outside the restaurant.
Anna’s debuted in 1995 in Coolidge Corner. It now has a second Brookline outpost, two in Cambridge (Porter and Kendall), and one each in Somerville (Davis), Beacon Hill, and Newton. The Prudential Center location is open daily from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
