Spend Mother’s Day Adventuring on the Esplanade
With a free nature walk from the Esplanade Association.

This Mother’s Day, instead of bringing Mom a bundle of flowers you bought on the way out of the grocery store, take her to the Esplanade to experience wildflowers, birds, and the great outdoors for memories that will last much longer than a week (which is how long those flowers are going to last).
As part of their new Family Adventures program, which kicked off on Father’s Day last year, the Esplanade Association will host a free Mother’s Day wildlife walk on May 12. There will be two separate walks to choose from, both taking off from Fiedler field—one at 10 a.m. and one at 11 a.m., giving you ample time for a Mother’s Day brunch.
During the walk, staff from the association will identify different species of birds, animals, and wildlife habitats and you will learn different ways to preserve those habitats. You’ll also receive a free pair of binoculars to play Wildlife Bingo.
Participants are asked to arrive at Fiedler field 10 minutes before their scheduled walk.
