The 13th annual CityFeast fundraiser returned to Boston’s North End to raise money for Joslin Diabetes Center’s High Hopes Fund, which supports the Center’s greatest needs in research, education, and clinical care. Guests enjoyed a special five-course meal at one of six renowned Boston restaurants: Antico Forno, Terramia Ristorante, Aria Trattoria, Bricco Ristorante, Tresca, and Lucca. The evening began with a reception at Antico Forno, owned by the event’s founder, Carla Agrippino Gomes. She spoke about her experience raising her son David, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on his first birthday and is now a medical professional himself, and the steps he has to take every day to ensure he stays healthy. David has received life-saving care at Joslin, and Carla began this fundraiser as a way to pay it forward. Since 2005, CityFeast has raised more than $300,000 toward Joslin’s research for a cure and cutting-edge diabetes care.
