This Friday we welcome the longest day of the year and the official first day of summer during the summer solstice. It also happens to be International Yoga Day. Local Boston yoga instructors and studios are offering a whole array of special yoga experiences from seaside to rooftop yoga, plus Reiki and even bootcamp classes—for good measure. Below we rounded up some of the coolest International Yoga Day events happening this weekend.

Summer Sculpt Vibes: An early celebration, but a celebration none-the-less, this hot sculpt class will be set to a summer-themed playlist and will be held at Breathe in Cambridge.

International Day of Yoga Celebration: Head to Fan Pier Marina for seaside yoga at sunset with Boston-based instructors Meghan Rozanski Brundage and Taryn Burns, hosted by Lululemon. You’ll flow to the beats of a live DJ and views of the water. The class will be timed so it ends right before sunset.

International Yoga Day at the Sea: Sheena Patel, founder of the wellness company Savasani, will be hosting a yoga practice overlooking the Harbor at the Harbor Park in the Seaport. The session will highlight yoga for health and yoga for peace, to leave you rejuvenated and aligned with your body and mind.

Summer Solstice Rooftop Yoga and Reiki: Head to the roof deck at Lantera for yoga and Reiki hosted by Cambridge Naturals. You’ll be lead through a 90-minute practice followed by a Group Reiki session to let go of unneeded stress and tension.

Summer Solstice Yoga 2019: This event will be held outside at the Baxter Riverfront Park Amphitheater in Somerville and will include giveaways and free yoga sessions from Some.Yoga Studio. You can also choose from two different practices, a vinyasa or detox flow. Please bring your own mat.

International Day of Yoga Grand Celebration and Workshops: The real place to be on International Yoga Day is the Boston Common where all day there will be yoga classes, meditation, speakers, and more. The fun starts at 9 a.m. with a yoga class and the afternoon festivities and speakers will begin at 1 p.m. at the State House.

Summer Solstice Sweat: Some of your favorite Boston instructors are coming together to host an evening dedicated to the summer solstice at The Revolution Hotel. The evening kicks off with a bootcamp type class led by Naomi Rotstein and is followed up with a 30-minute yoga cool-down by the Luna Yogis. You will also receive complimentary bites from Grainmaker and refreshments from FitVine Wine and can shop the new summer line at Bold Body Apparel. Please bring a yoga mat and an inspirational book for a book swap.
