CB2, Crate & Barrel’s spunkier little sister, opens its first Boston location today. A two-floor shop in the rapidly developing Fenway neighborhood, the Chicago-based retailer’s 19th location sits at the base of the new 30-story Pierce Boston tower across from Time Out Market, which also made its debut this week. “We’ve been looking in Boston for a very long time, and we’re super excited to come to Fenway,” CB2 President Ryan Turf says. “It’s an up-and-coming area and it has all that culture and youth and excitement that appeals to us.”

Inside the shop, which sits at the corner of Boylston Street and Brookline Avenue, sunlight streams in from glass walls and onto dark wood floors filled with displays of contemporary furniture and home accessories for a variety of spaces. “[Our customers] can expect a fun, sophisticated store with edgy and modern designs but also approachable designs,” Turf says. In addition, it features an area dedicated to CB2 Interiors, a virtual design service that allows customers to collaborate with CB2 stylists on room designs and see how furniture and décor might look in their own homes before purchasing. The new location will also host periodic community events, from floral design workshops to food drives, relevant to the Boston-area customer. “We’re excited to finally be able to offer our brand and our experience to our [Boston] customers who, frankly, have been here for a long time, so hopefully they’re just as excited as we are,” Turf says.
