Here’s a First Look at the Seaport Skating Rink, Open Now
There's no booze at the Snowport Winter Village yet, but there is a Waffle Cabin.

Get ready for your holiday cheer levels to reach an all-time high: The snow has fallen, the holiday lights are ablaze, and the Seaport ice skating rink is officially open.
The rink is part of the “Snowport Winter Village,” an “interactive winter wonderland” that features not only the rink, but a lineup of winter activities and tempting food and drink options. The 7,000-square-foot festive destination, located at the intersection of Seaport and Fan Pier Boulevards, will be open through February, per a press release.
The rink itself is pretty massive, spanning over 3,000 square feet and accommodating over 200 skaters at a time. Admission to the rink is $5 for adults and $3 for children, and you can either BYO skates or rent a pair for $5. There are lockers and restrooms on site, and “skate aids” are also available for those who don’t love wiping out on the cold ice.
There will be much more to enjoy at the Winter Village than just skating, however. Throughout the season, the installation will play host to a variety of winter activities, including light displays, yoga, “seasonal workshops,” live music, and themed skate nights. Some of the Village’s more unique offerings include an “iceless curling” setup and a tree market (closing December 21), where you can pick out a fresh evergreen tree or wreath and have it delivered to your home via bicycle. There’s also a lineup of community events in the works, with a free open-skate hosted by Outdoor Voices already on the books.
If you toe loop and triple axel your way to an appetite, you’ll be able to make a pit stop at the Waffle Cabin, where you can indulge in a freshly baked waffle. Later, there are plans to open a warming tent on site, where more seasonal food and beverage options will be available for skaters and visitors alike. While initial plans for the site included alcohol available for purchase, there’s just coffee for now—but it’s free, and you can drink it in style. Snowport partner Fjällräven, the trendy Scandinavian backpack brand, will park their “Fjallhus” tiny home on site, offering visitors a cozy place to lounge and caffeinate.
Ready to lace up your skates? The ice rink will be open 7 days a week, after work hours on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. For peak Christmas cheer, consider visiting tomorrow evening, to coordinate your skating session with the Seaport’s Christmas tree lighting and holiday stroll.
