Photos: Boston Snowball Fight

Nice try, Boston. An effort to set a Guinness World Record yesterday in the Boston Common for largest snowball fight came nowhere near its goal of about 6,000 people. Set for noon on Sunday and advertised on social media with the hashtag #bostonsnowballfight, the organizers’ goal was to dethrone Seattle, which still holds the record from its snow day celebration in January with just over 5,800 people in attendance.

Boston was not even close—only about 300 people showed up to play. Blame it on poor marketing or blame it on the T being down…what really matters is that people seemed to have a good time regardless. And besides, there’s always Winter Storm Orko.
