22 Sent to Hospitals During Keith Urban Concert at Xfinity Center in Mansfield

According to reports, some 50 people were taken into protective custody, 46 were treated, and 22 were sent to area hospitals for alcohol-related illness.

It seems EDM fans aren’t the only ones who party too hard. Only one month after more than 30 Avicii concertgoers were sent to area hospitals for drug- and alcohol-related issues, an equally troubling incident took place during Keith Urban’s concert at Xfinity Center in Mansfield this Saturday.

According to reports, 22 people were taken to area hospitals during the country singer’s concert. About 50 were taken into protective custody by police, and 46 in total treated for alcohol-related illness. Emergency services came from six different towns—Mansfield, Eaton, Foxboro, North Attleboro, Norton, and Plainville—to respond to the situation, with at least eight ambulances having taken fans to hospitals by about 10:30 p.m., according to the Globe.

Like the incident at TD Garden during the Avicii concert last month, the case at the Keith Urban concert was declared an MCI, a mass casualty incident.

About 18,000 people in total attended Keith Urban’s concert in Mansfield. Aside from being a Grammy-winning country artist, the Australian is also known for being married to actress Nicole Kidman and a judge on American Idol.
