Watch Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Talk About the Project Greenlight Reboot

They created a bunch of short and funny promo videos.

Nobody seems to be thrilled about the reboot of HBO’s Project Greenlight quite like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are. The two actors sat down together to make a couple of promo videos for the returning series. And quite frankly, the videos are kind of funny (who knew?).

Project Greenlight, which originally aired in its first season back in 2001, is a series that follows Damon, Affleck, and bunch of other notable film professionals in the search to find the next great director. The series jumped from HBO to Bravo in its third season where it soon died out.

However, in June, Damon and Affleck originally announced via this self-deprecating promo video that they want submissions from aspiring filmmakers to potentially get in on the competition’s reboot. From July 24 through August 8, HBO is taking three-minute video submissions to participate in the competition. They are also taking submissions to help judge the finalists in the competition from July 30 through August 22. All submissions are via projectgreenlight.com. The series premiere date is to be determined.

Below, watch the promo videos with Matt and Ben for Project Greenlight.

Ben describes Project Greenlight in under 15 seconds, timed by Matt.

Being a director is a lonely job according to Ben, i.e. life is hard for Ben Affleck.

Matt says Project Greenlight is actually real, i.e. Project Greenlight is not Jersey Shore.

Ben gives us a history lesson, Matt is not amused.

Some final words about a potential hot tub.
