Here’s Your MixFest 2014 Lineup
Mix 104.1 has announced who will play their free fall concert, MixFest, at the Hatch Shell in September. The annual concert consistently brings top artists to Boston for a day of family-friendly festivities. Last year, MixFest’s lineup starred Gavin DeGraw, the Backstreet Boys, and Of Monsters and Men.
This year, the station is bringing more big names to the Hatch Shell stage for their complimentary concert. Your MixFest 2014 lineup:
Phillip Phillips
You know him as the season 11 winner of American Idol. He plays guitar, and the ladies like it.
O.A.R.
Four of the five members are from Rockville, Maryland, hence the title of their latest, The Rockville EP.
Christina Perri
Perri was first plucked from obscurity—i.e. an everyday life—when her ballad was used on So You Think You Can Dance.
Magic!
They’re a Canadian reggae fusion band. Their debut single was the 2013 song “Rude!”
Kicking off the concert will be whoever wins Mix 104.1’s 15 Seconds of Fame contest, which gives local contestants a chance to open for the established acts above.
Curiously not on the lineup? The Fray. The band bet on a Broncos-Patriots game last year and lost. The wager was for The Fray to perform at MixFest 2014. Hm, maybe next year.
MixFest 2014 takes place Saturday, September 13, at the Hatch Shell. Admission is free, but be warned: last year’s attendance was the highest ever, with fans lining up down the Esplanade.
