Weather Channel Releases List of 2014-2015 Winter Storm Names

Brace yourselves for winter storm Damon.

Remember Nemo

The Weather Channel just released its annual list of winter storm names, and we’re sure Jimmy Kimmel can’t wait for the fourth storm of the season. Storms are given names in alphabetical order, and for 2014-2015, D stands for Damon.

Kimmel, of course, has a running gag that he hates Matt Damon, so you can bet that as soon as winter storm Damon attacks, Kimmel will be on it.

For the record, the Weather Channel attributes the name selection of Damon to greek mythology, not the Boston-bred actor. In the story of Damon and Pythias, Damon is known for his loyalty.

Other fun names on the list include Linus, Quantum, and Thor, so brace yourselves for jokes about Charlie Brown, 007, and the Avengers this winter.

The ‘W’ storm is still open to a public vote on Weather.com. You can vote for Warren, Wilda, Willie, Woden, or Wolf. For once, Republicans might vote for Warren so they can villainize her later when the time comes.
