It’s the happiest season of all, folks, and the year’s busiest shopping weekend is about to kick off the holidays. To accommodate those hardcore sale-seeking customers, we rounded up our favorite Black Friday and Small Business Saturday deals you won’t want to miss after Turkey Day. Black Friday
Note that all Massachusetts stores and retailers are closed on Thanksgiving day. See below for each location’s specified opening times for Friday, November 28. Also note that all deals are subject to change. Call individual stores for more details.
Assembly Row
Considering it’s so close to the city, has its very own T stop, and is brand-spankin’-new, Assembly Row will be an exciting Black Friday destination this year. The plaza is including its own unique Instagram shopping campaign: People are encouraged to post a photo of a desired item from any Assembly Row retailer, and between 5 a.m. and 12 p.m., one shopper every hour will be rewarded with the item they post. All shoppers have to do is tag @AssemblyRow and use the hashtag #ShareItWinIt.

Though the commute can be a trek, Wrentham is New England’s largest outdoor outlet center with over 170 brand-name stores including Bloomingdales, Fifth Avenue Off 5th, and Polo Ralph Lauren. Wrentham regularly offers killer savings, so Black Friday deals are naturally bigger and better.

Small Business Saturday
Olives & Grace
American Express and Etsy are sponsoring Sofi Madison’s one-of-a-kind boutique in the South End for a Small Business Saturday event. Olive & Grace is the place to find all sorts of unique snacks, hand-painted jewelry, housewares, and other gifts. This year, Madison will host potter and fermenter Jeremy Ogusky for a trunk show featuring items from his online Etsy retail shop. Ogusky will hold live demonstrations where customers can interact and leave with something special. In addition, O&G will feature other local favorites including refreshments from Sofra Bakery, and face painting from Boston Caricatures.

Papercuts JP
The new indie bookstore in Jamaica Plain is opening its doors for the first time on Small Business Saturday. The homey, 500-square-foot space is endearing and inviting with its high ceilings, cozy furniture and fun decor. The holiday section is even appropriately decorated with construction paper. Papercuts JP is not having an exclusive sale, but is hosting a grand opening celebration featuring live music by local musician Michael Tarbox.
