The Pentalum at Lawn on D has come and gone in all its incredibly cool displays of color, but at the Lawn, the fun summer activities are just getting started. Now through out the season, Lawn on D is hosting a handful of scheduled events and programs—some new, some returning from last year—all open to the public. While the official summer season at Lawn on D opened on May 15, the Lawn will be adding more events on a rolling basis throughout the next few months.

Below, see what’s in store at Lawn on D so far.

Concerts in Collaboration with Bowery Boston

Starting this summer, Lawn on D will offer ticketed concerts for the first time. Indie folk band Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros will take over the venue in June 17 after performing at Boston Calling in 2014, and local favorites Passion Pit in July 23.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros: Wednesday, June at 6 p.m., tickets are $35 in advance on ticketmaster.com, $38 day of show.

Passion Pit: Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.m., $41.50 in advance on ticketmaster.com, $42 day of show.

—PlayDay—
July 18

Created in collaboration with Boston Children’s Museum, PlayDay will bring some of America’s finest innovative play sculptures, games, activities, and more to the Lawn on D. Guests of any age are welcome.

—Porchfest—
August 8

While Jamaica Plain and Somerville have their own Porchfests, the Lawn’s Porchfest will be the same idea. The day-long celebration will bring ten musicians to three different stages designed to look like porches. The event will have roving circus artists and participatory art projects throughout the day, bringing the nationwide festivities right to the city.

—Friday Lunch Break on D—
Fridays, 12 p.m-2 p.m.

Enjoy weekly live performances from the Berklee Summer in the City concert series. Food trucks will stop by on most Fridays for a variety of lunch options, or bring your own lunch for a nice little picnic of your own.

The Lawn on D is open to the public seven days a week, with an exception to private events. As Lawn on D continues to add more events throughout the season, this post will frequently be updated.
