From September 25-October 4, ArtWeek Boston returns for its fall 2015 installment with over 100 events—in fashion, film, theater, visual arts, and music—happening all over town. The week kicks off with a special Prudential Tower lighting on September 25 and ends with “nuit blanche” glow party Illuminus on the weekend of October 3. In between, events run the gamut from a cellist Maya Beiser playing new arrangements of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Nirvana, and more by MIT’s Evan Ziporyn; to a Revolutionary War-inspired fashion show; to walking tours devoted to the works of Edgar Allan Poe (and getting a raven’s eye view of his life in Boston).

But one of the most intriguing aspects about ArtWeek its emphasis on taking you from spectator to participant. Always wanted to learn how to weld? Do improv? Mix creative craft cocktails? Then check out ArtWeek’s impressive roster of classes, workshops, and demonstrations. Even better, many of them are free! Here’s our rundown of some of the hands-on activities offered this week.
