Boston University to Honor Uzo Aduba at Alumni Event
The awards just keep coming in for Uzo Aduba.
The Orange Is the New Black star and Medfield native is coming to Boston this weekend for Boston University’s annual alumni event. Aduba, who graduated from BU in 2005, will be honored by the College of Fine Arts with an Inspiring Young Alumni Award, presumably for her work as the popular character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on the hit Netflix series.
Aduba tweeted out her excitement over receiving the accolade earlier this week.

This will be her second major award in less than a week as she recently took home an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Aduba previously won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014 when Orange Is the New Black was still categorized as a comedy.
As if the Boston-bred actress wasn’t busy enough accepting all of these prestigious accolades, Aduba was also featured in Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton’s latest campaign video.
She joined Girls actress and ardent feminist Lena Dunham as well as a number of other Clinton supporters in the clip, which was released via Youtube on Thursday.
In week full of proud moments, here’s one more. So excited to be part of the #WomenForHillary video launching today: http://t.co/z4ARW8yXAy — Uzo Aduba (@UzoAduba) September 24, 2015
