Meghan Trainor Earns American Music Awards Nomination for Artist of the Year

Meghan Trainor is all about those nominations at this year’s American Music Awards.
After earning a nod for New Artist of the Year in 2014, the Massachusetts native and former Berklee College of Music student is nominated in three categories this time around, including Artist of the Year. Trainor is also up for Favorite Female Artist in the pop/rock division as well as Favorite Artist in the adult contemporary division.
The “All About That Bass” star has her work cut out for her though, as she’ll be going head-to-head with music megastar Taylor Swift in each of the categories. Not surprisingly, the pop culture queen leads this year’s pack of AMA nominees with a total of six nominations.
While Trainor is currently still in the running for Artist of the Year, the group of contenders will be slimmed significantly once the online voting by fans finishes up in November, so there’s a chance she may not be included in the category when the ceremony airs live on ABC on November 22.
