Amy Schumer Headlines Northeastern University’s Homecoming

The reigning queen of comedy is coming to town.

Get ready Boston, Amy Schumer is coming to Northeastern University this fall.

Northeastern’s Council for University Programs announced on Thursday that the recent Emmy Award winner and budding Hollywood superstar will be headlining this year’s homecoming week festivities. Schumer is scheduled to appear at Matthews Arena on Friday, November 6.

Unfortunately, only current students, alumni, and other members of the “NU community” will be allowed to attend the event. So if you aren’t a part of this group, be sure to bother your Husky friends for guest tickets if you want to go to the show.

It turns out, Schumer has spent a lot of time performing in the Boston area this year.

Most recently, the Comedy Central star joined Aziz Ansari in headlining this year’s Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, which stopped by the Xfinity Center in Mansfield on September 11.

Prior to the festival, the comedian brought director Judd Apatow and some of her Trainwreck co-stars to the Wilbur Theatre in June to help hype the film’s release, as well as raise funds for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. She also had a solo performance at the venue in May.

Over the past few years, Northeastern has been able to book a ton of big names for the annual homecoming event.

House of Cards star Kevin Spacey had a memorable appearance at last year’s show. In addition to delighting students with his Frank Underwood accent, the actor also opened up about his connection with the city and the impact the Boston Marathon bombings had on him.

Other previous headliners include Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg, Russell Brand, Sarah Silverman, and Donald Glover.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Wednesday, October 21 at 9 p.m. Check out northeastern.edu/homecoming for more information.
