Amy Poehler to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Amy Poehler is set to become the 2,566th celebrity to earn a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week.
The Burlington native will receive the honor for her nearly two decades of work in television at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 3. The event will kick off at 3:30 EST and will be streamed live at walkoffame.com.
Former Parks and Recreation co-star Rashida Jones and series co-creator Mike Schur will be on hand to say a few words about their famous friend, as well as Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Leron Gubler, who will serve as the ceremony’s emcee.
Joining the historic Walk of Fame should help take the sting out of being snubbed at the Emmy Awards once again this year.
Despite earning a ton of praise from fans and critics for her role as the lovable Leslie Knope, Poehler was passed over for the sixth year in a row in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category. Veep’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus was able to snag the award for the fourth straight time.
Even if she never wins that coveted Emmy, she’ll always be a star in our book.
