Jimmy Fallon Cracks Tom Brady Joke on the Tonight Show
Jimmy Fallon took a few lighthearted jabs at Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after Sunday’s tough loss to the Broncos in the AFC Championship.
As expected, the New York crowd cheered when the Tonight Show host brought up Denver’s win during Monday night’s monologue. They gave an even bigger applause when he mentioned the team’s four sacks against Brady.
“Brady was hit so hard, a kid in the stands actually caught one of his Uggs,” Fallon joked.
Later in the episode, Fallon talked about the game with NBC sportscaster Dan Patrick.
The radio host kicked things off by comparing the comedian to Panthers quarterback Cam Newton–which got Fallon dabbing. Patrick then compared late night rivals Jay Leno and David Letterman to Brady and Peyton Manning.
“You remind me of the Cam Newton of late night,” Patrick said. “Now hear me out here: Leno and Letterman, Manning and Brady. You’re the next wave, energetic, different new, and exciting.”
Much to the delight of Patriots fans, Patrick later poked fun at Fallon for asking about the Jets chances next year.
“Nobody gives a s–t,” Patrick said.
As for the other late night shows, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert also had some fun at the Patriots star’s expense.
“Poor Tom Brady, you know nothing ever seems to go right for that guy,” Kimmel quipped after bringing up Brady’s fourth quarter interception.
The Late Show host ragged on Brady’s good looks, accompanied with a picture of the quarterback holding his face in his hand.
“A tough, tough day for Tom Brady, seen here trying to cheer up by feeling how fabulous his bone structure is,” Colbert said while imitating Brady. “I’m so handsome I could blind people.”
