Zac Brown Band Returns to Fenway Park This Summer

Add another show to Fenway Park’s busy summer concert season. Actually, add two.
Country titans Zac Brown Band this morning announced a return to Fenway for two gigs this summer, August 20 and 21. Last year, the Grammy-winning Georgia-based crew made history in Boston by playing three sold-out shows at Fenway—something not previously accomplished by the likes of the Police, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews or anyone else who have played in the shadow of the Green Monster—and even Steven Tyler got in on the action.
This year’s tour, dubbed Black Out The Sun, does leave the possibility of a third date being added to the live Fenway lineup, as the band has a 12-day break between the second Fenway show and a September 2 gig in Virginia. The Red Sox, meanwhile, are on a road trip to Detroit and Tampa Bay that weekend and early part of the week.
Zac Brown Band’s 26-date tour also includes shows at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin, and a trio of other ballparks: New York’s Citi Field, the home of the Mets; Minnesota’s Target Field, home of the Twins; and Houston’s Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros.
These new shows are the latest on the Fenway concert slate, which also features Dead & Company (July 15 and 16), James Taylor (August 3), Pearl Jam (August 5 and 7), and Billy Joel (August 18). Tickets for the Boston show go on sale March 11 (with a presale on March 8); info for all shows is available here.
