Danny Amendola Declares His Allegiance to Team Captain America
An Avengers-style team of Boston-bred stars assembled on the red carpet to support Sudbury native Chris Evans at the world premiere of Captain America: Civil War in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
Evans recently revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he had invited several New England Patriots players to the festivities, including Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, but it seems that only wide receiver Danny Amendola answered the actor’s call. Hopefully they aren’t secretly siding with Robert Downey Jr.’s team Iron Man.
While we’re not sure where Evans’ other Patriots pals were, Amendola was spotted holding the Star-Spangled Avenger’s shield while declaring his allegiance to team Captain America.

The Patriots star wasn’t the only local who showed up on the red carpet.
Medford’s Maria Menounos also attended the premiere on behalf of E! News and took a selfie with Amendola while reporting from the Dolby Theatre.
Comedian and Cambridge native Dane Cook rounded out the group of Boston celebrities who were seen at the Captain America premiere.
Cook, who starred in the 2005 film London opposite Evans, gave a shoutout to his fellow Bostonian via a post on Instagram.
