Hey, now, the Outside the Box Festival has announced an “All Star” lineup for this year’s celebration.

Festival creator Ted Cutler and mayor Marty Walsh revealed on Monday that ’90s rock band Smash Mouth and former American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry will headline this summer’s event. The week-long festival, which is free and celebrates the city’s art and innovation scenes, will take over the Boston Common area July 13-17.

While the full lineup of performers has yet to be revealed, Smash Mouth will play a special “Throwback Thursday” performance July 14 on the Capital One stage. Daughtry will take over the stage the following night on Friday, July 15.

Curated by artistic director Georgia Lyman, the annual festival will also feature a number of other different events, including the launch of OTB Interactive, which celebrates Boston’s entrepreneurial community.

In addition to the new program, Outside the Box will include events centered around the city’s innovation sector, such as the OTB Interactive Awards and the creation of the Innovation Village. A speaker summit and networking events are being planned as well.

“Outside the Box shows us how performing arts can bring a community together, breaking down barriers and inspiring people of all ages and backgrounds,” Mayor Walsh said in a statement. “Programs like Outside the Box are a cornerstone of our commitment to creating an inclusive, innovative cultural environment.”

Cutler, a local philanthropist, created the festival in 2013 as a way to showcase Boston’s artistic and innovative sides. Outside The Box had a brief hiatus in 2014 before returning to the Common last year with performances by Guster, the Gin Blossoms, and a River of Puppets.

“Since starting Outside the Box, my hope continues to be that we can inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures with our broad range of offerings ,” Cutler said in a statement. “By introducing an innovation section to Outside the Box this year, we’re bringing together all of what makes our city great in one event.”
