Glow in the Park Returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway this Month
Drinks, food trucks, and live music will once again take over the Rose Kennedy Greenway when Glow in the Park returns later this month.
The annual event, organized by the Greenway Young Leaders, is set to bring a slew of fun activities to the area that are geared towards the city’s population of young professionals. This year’s Glow in the Park will take place on Friday, June 17, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Highlights from the 2016 festivities include performances by the band Legends of Summer as well as Vivian Luo, a local street violinist who made waves in February when a video of her playing Drake’s “Hotline Bling” at the Red Line’s Park Street stop went viral.
According to Michael J. Nichols, chief of staff for the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, the theme for this year’s Glow in the Park is “Under the Stars.” Organizers have put together special uplighting both inside and outside the event’s tent, which will give the Greenway a nice glow during the evening.
In addition to the lights and live performances, the event will also include lawn games, beer provided by Samuel Adams, wine provided by 90+ Cellars, as well as food trucks from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Chicken & Rice Guys. All food and drink options are included with ticket purchases.
Uber will be offering 20 percent off on rides to and from the event for existing users, while new users will receive $20 off their trip. Following the Friday fun, the official after-party will be held at Trade.
Tickets to Glow in the Park also include a one-year membership in the Greenway Young Leaders program, VIP access to Boston Calling’s Block party in Dewey Square, and a public art tour. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit Greenway Conservancy.
Glow in the Park takes place on on Friday, June 17, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $95, $115 the day of the event.
