Stronger, the upcoming biopic about Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, has wrapped filming.

Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Bauman in the film, announced the news on Facebook this week by posting a touching photo from the set.

“That’s a wrap on filming ‪#‎StrongerMovie‬!” the actor wrote in the post. “It was a pleasure to work with director David Gordon Green to bring Jeff Bauman’s story to life.”

Prior to the end of production, Gyllenhaal had been spending quite a bit time with Bauman while shooting in Boston.

The pair was named co-captains for the Boston Medical Center’s 2016 Boston Marathon team and spoke at the group’s pre-marathon dinner. They then got to hang out with Red Sox slugger David Ortiz and throw out the first pitch at this year’s Patriots Day game at Fenway Park.

In addition to the Marathon Monday festivities, filming brought Gyllenhaal to the TD Garden earlier this year, where he shot a moving scene while rocking a Bruins jersey.

Stronger, which is based on Bauman’s autobiography of the same name, is one of two movies centered around the Marathon bombing, as Mark Wahlberg’s Patriots Day also filmed in Boston this year.

While no official release date has been set yet, Stronger is expected to hit theaters in 2017.
