Aerosmith’s Joe Perry Collapses During New York Show
Joe Perry had a scary moment during a performance with supergroup Hollywood Vampires in New York over the weekend.
According to the Associated Press, the Aerosmith guitarist was taken to the hospital after a health issue forced him to leave the stage at the Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn’s Coney Island on Sunday night.
A video from the concert appears to show Perry struggling to play his guitar before he abruptly walks offstage as his bandmates Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper continue to play. Rolling Stone reports that the guitarist “lost consciousness and collapsed” backstage and was treated by EMTs who brought him to the hospital at around 9:30 p.m.
Following the incident, Cooper tweeted out a a photo of Perry accompanied by an update, saying that the rock n’ roll star is “stable” and with family. A representative for Hollywood Vampires confirmed with Rolling Stone that Perry is resting and “doing well.”
